Introducing Sonia -
Grief Counsellor

For many people, talking to friends or family is all the support they need when grieving.

But you might not have a close friend or family member who you feel you can talk to. Or maybe you feel more comfortable sharing your feelings with someone who does not know you.

If you think you could benefit from professional support, one of the ways that you may be able to get this support is with bereavement or grief counselling.

Sonia Knight will be joining us soon as our online counsellor, she is fully qualified and experienced and will be available to talk to you about your grief, worries and concerns online or by phone.

Sonia has a beautiful soul, she is kind, gentle, caring and thoughtful and very knowledgable, someone you can really trust. I have known Sonia for over 30 years and I am thrilled she will be our go to counsellor very soon.

Do I Need Grief Counselling?

Bereavement counselling is support from a professional counsellor like Sonia who is qualified to help with your feelings and emotions of grief. You can talk to them about the person you have lost, about how their death is affecting you and how you are or are not coping.

Sonia will help you to understand your feelings and help you start to adapt to life without the person who has died.

Grief is a natural response to losing someone, there's no right or wrong way to grieve and it feels different for everyone.

There is also no timescale for grief, so how long it takes for you to feel like you're starting to live again, will be different for everyone too.

But if your emotions are so intense and all consuming that you feel you cannot go on, if you are struggling to cope day-to-day in the way that you did before then you may need to see a bereavement counsellor.

Sonia will patiently guide you through your grief, reassuring and supporting you all the way.
